The now famous Leisure Suit Larry was first brought to us in 1987 by Al Lowe and Sierra for the DOS PC. The main character is Larry Laffer, a balding, double entendre-speaking, leisure suit-wearing "loser" in his 40s. The game follow him as he spends much of his life attempting (usually unsuccessfully) to seduce attractive women and it spawned many sequels. The series had its origins in Sierra's earlier Softporn Adventure, a 1981 text adventure created by designer Chuck Benton, whose story and basic structure was reused for the first "Larry" game. The "Larry" games were one of Sierra's most popular game series during the genre's heyday when it was first released in the mid-1980s. As such, they remain well-known among fans of the type today. The series stands out among Sierra's catalog in that they are the only games the company produced that contain significant sexual themes.

Now the game is being brought to the NES by homebrew developers Khan Games who have been trying to keep the development of this game under their hat for some time now. NES Larry is done with the programming phase and they are now moving into closed beta testing. A thread was posted around a month ago on NintendoAge to find people to help with this so we look forward to hearing the results. Please understand that it is an arduous process, so don't expect the game to be released instantly!

At the moment this project is an unofficial release but the programmers are trying to track down the original developer to get his approval! For those who cannot contain their excitement over the game's release you can also watch a short video of the game in action on the company's Instagram page. To keep track of the latest news and developments with this project you can also check Khan games Facebook page.

We'll all be getting laid soon, baby![/align:3tj1jb14]

Well, hopefully they do better than the Master System version of the original King's Quest. Ever played it? No? Yeah, be glad.

No, all long gone.

The game will just be a ROM release but will work if flashed to a cart.  Its bound to get a cart edition sold somewhere because of what it is, will be fun to see what sort of cart design fans will make.

It's a cool project but I tried to talk to the developers on Facebook and they were total dicks. Shame.

Hmm, I guess something to keep an eye on.  Laird, what happened with the developers on FB?

There seems to be a lot of misinformation out there, and people seem to making a lot of things up.  To clarify, there is only 1 developer, but I did the majority of the background conversions from the original game (The developer had the first ones finished before I started on the project).  There will not be a rom release.  It will be released like all KHan games other releases via retrousb.com.  You can see what went down on facebook by looking on KHan games facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/pages/KHAN-Games/140171942689547

Al Lowe (original developer) gave his blessing on the project, but he no longer holds the rights to leisure suit larry, so that didn't mean much. Kevin just decided to change the name, so people wouldn't think this was an official release by the IP holders.

If you have any other questions about this (besides a release date), I probably have the answers.

Where did you see this?  This game actually doesn't work properly unless it is played on real hardware since it uses flash memory for savestates. http://wiki.nesdev.com/w/index.php/UNROM_512

It is fully developed, just tweaking things like dialogue and bug fixing.
