Flash based puzzle game 2048 seems to be the new craze among casual gamers. Quick to cash in on the success of the game homebrewers have been busy putting out conversions for every system under the sun and now Sega Master System owners can enjoy the game too. Programmed by Julien Verneuil for the SMS Power Coding Competition 2014, the first version of this game was made in just 4 days!

How to play 2048: when two tiles with the same number touch, they merge into one, the goal is to get a tile with the number 2048, then you win but you can continue and try to go to up to 8192 if you want. Use the D-Pad to move the tiles, Button 1 starts or restarts the game and Button 2 is used to continue the game when you have won. The programmer is still making improvements and fixing bugs in the game.

The demo version of SMS 2048 can now been downloaded for free to use with real hardware, via a flash cartridge, or your favourite emulator. You can read more about the project and add your own comments in the development thread over at SMS Power forum.

Unsure if this should be its own thread or not, but Oergg made a genesis/mega drive version that can be found here: http://gendev.spritesmind.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1730

Figured since this is the SMS thread, why not toss in it's younger brothers version as well :p
