this divide is quite useful, this is one of the image to spec files I made a while ago.

Here is a daylight picture of the machine, you can make out the join a little, but I did quite well using only hand tools.

A thing of beauty. Better than the original!

Looks nice but wouldn't it be easier to simply add a black plate on top of the tape recorder and adding the CF drive underneath? It would than be more looking like a Sinclair QL and you have additional room for enhancements.

As the sinclair pcb is not big it would also make sense to fit it into a keyboard housing together with a real PC keyboard. Simple add a 1cm metal stripe between top and bottom then there is plenty of room for the PCB. By using a small black keyboard you'll get a small nice looking spectrum  :39:

Hi, thanks.

Yes I did consider putting the divide interface in place of the tape deck, but adding physical distance to the divide and the bus would make to whole interface too unstable to be reliable, somthing to do with the Spectrum not having a buffered I/O like the c64 or MSX.

The keyboard idea has been used by other people, it looks good, but I do actually like the keyboard, its the one thing the Amstrad ruled of the Sinclair Brand.

here is a link to the thread on W-o-S that has some other +2 / +3 mods.

The project has been featured on Hackaday, there are some mixed comments on there, worth a read.
