This already looks like more fun than Atari Math.  Looks pretty cool too, considering the graphical limitations of the 2600.

Yes it does.  I should also mention it is not finalized yet, so keep checking the original thread for more info.  :)

Hi, I'm the 2048 2600 programmer (and a newcomer to this forum!)

Thanks TrekMD for posting. The latest source code and binaries can also be found on the Github project page: https://github.com/chesterbr/2048-2600, feel free to reuse/contribute/suggest.

I'll likely work on some multiplayer mode and add some sounds in the near future (wasn't planning for sound at first, considering the original 2048 is silent, but hey, on Atari you can always turn down the TV volume if you want to  :1:).

Cheers!

Thanks! I didn't know RVG, and it has seriously killed my productivity  I'm a sucker for the new generation of "hardware-challenging" ZX81 and ZX Spectrum games, that is, high-res and multi-attribute...

...but after some fun with such games I got back to 2048 2600 and added a 2-player competitive mode (which fixed the bug that had the game starting with GAME SELECT and not GAME RESET). Check it out: https://github.com/chesterbr/2048-2600

Aw come on, really?
The 2600 is capable of far better graphics than this.
(BTW I'm not talking about this game here, in any way. These suit the game perfectly)

Improved a bit: now the game detects when you can't move and makes a (silent) explosion.

Next are detecting the 2048 tile, adding some sound and a high score, and I guess I'll be over with it  :<img src=" title="Roll Eyes" />

And here is the final version (unless some bug is found, or I get some code contribution). It has sound, a high-score for single player mode, detects the end of the game and the 2048 tile, so I'd likely wrap it. Enjoy!
