I watched Sharknado yesterday.  Since I knew what to expect, I really enjoyed it and I nearly died laughing every time a shark killed someone.  I'd give it 8/10

I've never watched any of the Sharknado movies. I do like a good cheesy horror/comedy movie though so I should really give it a shot.

Just watched Kingsman the golden circle the other night.  Very good movie although not as much depth as the first. Still enjoyable though.

I'm 30 minutes into the 2nd one and fighting to stay awake. ::)

Finished Mission Impossible 2 and it was great after the 45 minute mark. The motorcycles at the end was coolest chase scene(s) I've ever seen lol. Way overdone and completely impossible but still looked awesome 8)
Too bad they didn't play I Disappear until the credits though. And an edited version. Ew. This was one of my favorite videos back in the day:

Can't wait to check out the 3rd one 8)

Finally finished Mission Impossible 3 (2006). Took a few days and I don't like breaking it up like that but well worth it. This movie ROCKS! From the opening scene I was like, Oh no :-\
Then, the reveal later on was excellent and unexpected :D
Plus, the scene on top of the roof in Shanghai was intense as hell. Had me at the edge of my seat.
Non-insane Tom Cruise is awesome 8)

I haven't seen it.  Guess I'll need to have a watch.  I recently watched Australia

Synopsis:  Set in northern Australia before World War II, an English aristocrat who inherits a sprawling ranch reluctantly pacts with a stock-man in order to protect her new property from a takeover plot. As the pair drive 2,000 head of cattle over unforgiving landscape, they experience the bombing of Darwin, Australia, by Japanese forces firsthand.

Though this movie is slow paced, I enjoyed watching it because of the link to a historical event.  Interestingly enough, the I looked for this history and learned the Darwin was attacked two months after the attack on Pearl Harbor.

Sounds interesting. I'll have to check that one out 8)

Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol (2011)
This was another great one. Tons of action and scaling the outside of the Burj Khalifa skyscraper in Dubai. Every scene there was intense 8)
Also, a cat fight between Paula Patton and hot assassin chick Léa Seydoux

For reference :D

This was the first one without Ving Rhames as a main character, though :-\  He was onscreen for like 25 seconds at the end. Anyway, it was fantastic in 1080p with amped Klipsch speakers. Especially during the nuke launch portion. Edge of the seat again lol.

Moving on to Rogue Nation..

Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation (2015) Another excellent movie. Started with a bang and continued to the end save for a looooong scene in an opera near the beginning. A high speed motorcycle chase and underwater "hold your breath for way too long" set of scenes rounded it out for the intensity.

Great series and looking forward to M:I 6 - Mission Impossible in 2018 8)

I watched Geostorm today.  This is one of those disaster movies so it has the same sort of formula these movies follow.  This one tries to be a little different by using satellites as the cause of the disaster.  Nothing spectacular but entertaining.  It gets a 6/10 from me.

Another one I got to watch:  American Assassin.  This is not one really worth watching.  Official synopsis:  After the death of his girlfriend at the hands of Islamic terrorists, Mitch Rapp is drawn into the world of counterterrorism, mentored by tough-as-nails former U.S. Navy S.E.A.L. Stan Hurley.  This gets a 4/10 at best.

Watched Amityville: The Awakening (2017) hoping for some cheesy rehash. This one was pretty good and had some creepy moments lol. The guy that plays a young Joker from Gotham tv series is in it and is excellent (as usual)
Not an Academy Award candidate but good to hit some popcorn to.

Just finished Leatherface (2017). All I can say is.... holy sh#t!
And... in the vain of the other more recent Texas Chainsaw Massacre movies, this one keeps innovative gore at the same heightened level. Just... wow

Out of all the movies I've seen recently, The Osiris Child (2016) is the best, barnone. Wasn't expecting such an epic movie but this one lived up to it. Looks to be one of those in a series of 5 or 7 movies over a period of years like Eclipse or Harry Potter did.
From IMDB:
Set in the future in a time of interplanetary colonization, an unlikely pair race against an impending global crisis and are confronted by the monsters that live inside us all.

Highly recommend this 8)
