I just watched The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, which is a movie from 2003 that mixes Victorian elements with science fiction with Sean Connery in the lead role.  I thought this was a fun movie.  I had not had the chance to watch it before.  The characters are legendary characters of fantasy who have to work together to face a madman called The Fantom.

I thought this was not bad when I first watch it back then.
The film has gone through production hell with Sean Connery & the director having fights on how the film is made and lead to the retirement of Sean Connery!

I didn't know it was the issues with this movie that led to his retirement.

I watched xXx: Return of Xander Cage in the theater a few weeks ago. More awesome ass kicking by Vin Diesel in the expected format. Some of the moves are (again) over board but it's a fun ride 8)

That's another movie series I've not seen.  Maybe I should catch up with it. :)

It's a tense thriller about a taking out known terrorists in Nairobi, commanded from London, albeit piloted from Las Vegas covering the moral dilemma about whether to strike or not is complex and gut wrenching.

Must watch 9/10

Just watched The Institute (2017). Not convincing enough acting to be believable but turns out to be based on a true story and a real place that opened in 1888 and just shut down in 2009. Some sick, sadistic stuff going on behind those walls but was a first time experience seeing James Franco not be a dumbass in a movie lol. I didn't know he could pull off a serious role. ???

He can?  I may have to watch the move just to say I experienced watching him acting for real.

I guess he can lol. Thought I recognized the character as him early on but dismissed it and didn't look it up during the movie. Saw his name in the credits and jaw dropped. Maybe he's taking a different path and/or separating himself from Seth Rogen after the ass he made of himself during the presidential campaign w/ that Amy Schumer idiot? Who knows. Was surprised to see this though and wondering if he can actually become something besides just another pos from Hollywood. Will be fun to see where it goes :p

Was about to watch Why Him? the other day but saw that it'd probably be more of the same so skipped it.

Got this brand new on blu-ray the other day (£3.94 inc p&p) and I laughed quite a lot all through the film. Typical Adam Sandler as the under dog (bit annoying at times) but with plenty of other characters to keep you interested. Of course the story is pathetic but, get past that and it moves at a good pace with great references to retro games. Obviously Pac Man is a key feature of the film but for me Qbert steels the show. Don't think about, just go with the flow and it is a great film for retro fans with a little scorn aimed at modern games lol Loved it!

I think that sums up a lot of what I felt. A fun and at times, clever movie 👍🏻

I watched the new Beauty and the Beast live action move from Disney and all I can say is WOW!  They really did a superb job adapting the animated movie as a live action movie.  The story was expanded in some areas and the new songs added to it as well.  It's remarkable what they did the CGI and scenes like "Be Our Guest" were just magical.  Definitely a must-watch.

I just came back from the cinema having watched Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.
I liked it. I would probably rate it 4.5 out of 6. I liked how it had a somewhat more relatable badguy than the first movie (which I also liked), but it wasn't without its faults. It just took a very long time to get to "what it was all about" which annoyed me a bit ... but overall I liked it.
... but I loved the first few minutes with a young Kurt Russel. That was totally unexpected and super cool (and very well done).
Insta-buy when it comes out on Bluray (just as the first movie ... which I still haven't watched again). #Time #Sigh
