I just made it. LOL!!!

It was close 2 years, 11 months, 30 days, 23 hours and 59 seconds. Glad I posted. ;D

After almost 20 years of marriage the loss of my wife was a hard blow. Took the wind out of my sails so to speak.

She took half of everything when she left. Except that is my video game collection. Ok, she did take the Nintendo Wii. No real loss.

I joke of course. Divorce is a hard thing. We had been together 23 years. Dated for 3 then married 20. Loss interest in everything that did not involve our kids. Fought a broken heart then realized I was given parole.  ;D

We share parenting and I like to think we are all doing fine. Only one of our kids is still at home. Mostly mine. Which is okay to, keeps my milk fresher when someone else helps drink it.

Starting to return to my former life. Gaming was a large part of that.

Just wanted to explain my absence. Hope to post more but if not please keep the 3 year rule. I will always make that time limit. :)

Thanks to everyone who has kept the site fresh!

First played this on the Commodore 64 then bought it for the Genesis. Was not disappointed with the game till the N64 release. That was a stinker.

Reminds me so much of Pie Hunter, a little Teen Titans Go humor.  ;D I mean Spy Hunter.

Retro News & Chat / Re: Why do you keep retroing?

For me it is game diversity and competition. So many games and choices from retro consoles.

The Nintendo Entertainment System is a great example. The NES had to be different from the Sega Genesis or Turbo Graphics-16.

The NES had games like Wall Street Kid where you bought and sold stocks. Genghis Khan let you conquer the world. Plenty of arcade choices. Sports games, so many choices. You were not stuck with one franchise but had many competing for your dollars. The NES also had watered down versions of two of my favorites that I played on the Commodore 64. Pirates and The Three Stooges. Point is that the games were available without floppy disk load times.

Later Sega did the same with the Genesis with ports of Buck Rodgers and Centurion Defender of Rome. American football was not limited to just Madden. Joe Montana, NFL Quarterback Club and my favorite Mutant League Football. I can't forget to mention Road Rash. It would be great to have an update of that classic.

When the 16-bit era hit, I was lucky to be a working teenager and young adult. I bought the Genesis, Super Nintendo and TG-16 new. Each had a different line-up of games that were unique to the system. Each had a platform game  pack-in. But Bonk, Mario and Sonic were different enough in gameplay to make me want to own each.

Just do not see that with modern consoles.

Seems like a nice mix of games. Never was a big fan of Sony or the Playstation till the Playstation Portable came out. The PSP is a very nice handheld.

They could have added some Road Rash games and if not maybe some sports games would have been a nice touch. I may be off but I thought Sony made some good American football games, under the 989 studios.

Very nice list. Quite a few games that I never took notice of before.

Never owned a C64 till much later but my parents bought me a C128 in 1985. Big step up from my Vic-20 and my Commodore 128 mostly spent time in C64 mode.  ;D

Pirates, Buck Rodgers, The Three Stooges, Crusade in Europe and bowling were my mainstay games. Yes, bowling. lol. Excellent version can be found on the Commodore 64. All round amazing computer.

I have been thinking about this system lately. Great versions of Choplifter and Rampage.

Feel a loss that so many good games were never released.

Commodore Chat / Re: Underappreciated Amiga Games.
« on: March 02, 2018, 16:09:20 PM »
Sounds like some great games.

I fondly recall the Amiga and Atari ST banter amongst my friends. Most of us had either the Atari 800XL or the C64. The Amiga and Atari computers were financially out of reach for us.

About the same time I thought of upgrading my computer, there were ads for an IBM clone that was also compatible with the Commodore 64. Thought this was the best of both worlds. Not sure it ever materialized.

Even now the Amiga line of computers seems like a great investment.
