Put simply, I never understood why this game gets so little love?
Along with such games as Phantasy Star IV and Starflight it is certainly one of my favourite Megadrive games!
The story is simple. During the defence of Duke Barrick's Castle from marauding armies of Goblins and other such miscreants a vast portal opens above the city and tears it into another dimension. The city finds itself in a valley surrounded by insurmountable cliffs and beneath the baleful eye of an eternally shining Sun.
So 4 adventurers are chosen to explore this new world to try and find an answer to their predicament.
Now I agree the story is lacking certainly but the gameplay more than made up for this. With it's mix of combat styles (that being Gold Box turn-based style when in the field and Eye of the Beholder style when in dungeons) and a multitude of lands to explore the game was, in my most humble of opinions, fantastic.
Any other lovers of the game out there?
