I'm passing my turn for a new screenshot to the next person. It's really hard to find screenshots of lesser known games! Was trying to find one called Dream Flight by Unknown on the Atari VCS. Impossible!Â

You are evil, evil, evil! LOL
bumping this... any chance of another clue m8?
So what are the rules for this anyway? Am I supposed to have played this game and know what it is that way? It's pretty easy to find out what game it is just by copying the image location but I assume that is cheating. Otherwise I don't know if anybody will get this, it's pretty obscure.

I think you will find the file has been renamed and re-hosted, that what most of us do anywayÂ
Okay well in that case I believe this game is Mr. Puniverse on the Commodore 16/Plus 4.
Never even heard of that version of Commodore before! LOL
If you are correct, then it's your go to submit a game of your choice for the rest of us to guess , this is the way this works, but as trek said you are better hosting it yourself rather from the game image location
You are correct Sir. Well done!
I think the general idea of the game is to try and guess what the game is from the picture and written clues by using general research or prior knowledge of the game. I would say that copying the image location or using reverse photo searches isn't really in the spirit of the game and anyone that does it should get a smack on the wrist and get sent to the naughty corner to hang their head in shame :)
Okay, I was playing this terrible game a bit last weekend so I'll go with it.
Not sure how to put the screen shot up without doing an attachment so hopefully this works.
Looks like a 32bit era game. Possibly a 3DO title? Looks weird (and ever so slighlty wrong!) whatever it is.
Thats a hard one.. Might have to search the net lol.

a very strange and wonderful little game, i never played before till now
I will come with a title just as devilish as this.
Congrats Greyfox, I figured you being a 3DO fan would be the one to get it.
It's a strange one for sure but you probably won't find it wonderful after playing it for a while lol.
Still it can be fun for a bit, even if it's just to experience how bizarre it gets.
Well done GF..
New one Foxy?
yeah..sorry about the delay getting back
this time a nice little looking platformer for you all to guess, on 16 bit platform is all the clues I'll be giving.

I'm not good at guessing these. It's a game where you kick balls, though.Â
I thought I knew this! Because I did an article on American Football games for AU and this came up in the search!
After checking my notes I see that it is AFL Football for the Atari STÂ
OK, I think I'm going to wake up this thread. Let's see if anyone knows what this game is. It is supposed to be rare, so hopefully, it isn't too easy.
This was an arcade game.

omg I love threads like these, but.... TOO EASY!
Freedom Fighter!
http://www.arcade-museum.com/game_detail.php?game_id=7850 (//http)
And... I'll risk jumping the gun and post the next one. This is a game my little brother and I used to play, I think the only reason we got it was because it was like a $5 cart. If anyone gets this, I'll be super impressed!
Hint: I played it on my Atari 800XL
Good thing it was a rare game! LOL Well, at least it go the thread restarted.Â
My research tells me that this is Peanut Butter Panic on the Atari 8-bit!

Wow, Peanut Butter Panic, you got it! And I feel like an idiot for not mentioning I'd be away from Internet for the next 10 days so I couldn't follow up... *doh* sorry about that. I'm glad you continued on without me.
My research tells me you've found the super rare Pyramid Adventures.

I'm still getting caught up so I'll let someone else continue on with the next screenshot. If no one has in the next 24 hours I'll dig up one.
Ok... I have a better shot if this one is too obscure, but to those who played the game it'll probably be known right away.

Is that Activisions Hacker or possible hacker 2?
Yes, Hacker!!! Well done sir!
I never knew there was a Hacker 2, I'll have to look into it.

Quote from: "TrapZZ"Yes, Hacker!!! Well done sir!

Had both Hacker games-2nd whilst technically very clever for the time (setting up video camera footage and nice 'VCR Noise' bar effects on the video) seemed to lack a certain factor the original had.Still a very good game.
Also whilst i had Uplink on PC few years back, i never tried it, it was supposed to be nearest 'modern' equiv.to the hacker games.
Since no one else has taken it up, I had an inspiration! This one might be easy, but maybe not because of how you get it playable...

I bloody new I had seen this before and it was really bothering me, Frank Gasking had this running on a C64 at Retrovision a few years back and he actually wrote an article about the game here too:

Is this not from that Atari 2600 modem thing?
Yes!!! The Atari 2600 Gameline Master Module.
I posted it for a couple of reasons:
1. I found it at a swap meet (I think you U.K. guys call it something else) about 10 years ago for 0.32 pounds. I recently sold it for a good deal more at a local game store to help my quest to purchase every U.S. NES game ever made.
2. AFAIK it's the first console system to offer games "on-line". I know the Intellivision did the Playcable but I believe that was after this.. and that ran through the cable system, not a built in phone modem.
Here's a link

Whilst i've only ever played the A8 version, it's an all time fav.game of all-time for myself.Bought the game when it appeared on an Atari's Greatest Hits comp, knew nothing about it what so ever, loaded it and was just blown away by it.
It seemed so unlike anything i'd played before, had a great sense of humour, some very clever audio effects (loved the underwater sounds in the fish bowl stage) and was just huge fun to play.
Alley Cat is an amazing game. Been thinking about 'lost' classics that deserve a modern remake and I think an updated version could be successful. Quality game that might have moms sneaking onto their kid's console when no one is around.
TrapZZ's turn.
Wow thanks everyone for the history lesson. I'll have to check it out it sounds super cool. You guys make me feel like a retro game noob here; while I'm an "expert" with my local friends.
This might be easy, but maybe not. On another thread someone mentioned never playing a good baseball game, and while I don't care for watching baseball, this game is a perfect mix of baseball and silliness - I really enjoy it.

IIRC this is a game by Codemasters called Bee or Buzz or something like that. It was on the 8-bit computers but this looks like an NES screenshot so it must have come out on that too.
It is NES game indeed. It is called Bee 52 and it was published for the NES by Camerica in 1992.

I was in the chatbox and saw someone drop a hint that i think was meant to be cryptic that lead me to
The Quest, either on the c64 or Atari XE.
I am going to go for the Atari XE
I didn't want to reply without others having a guess first
Well done FinMK, not only did you guess the game but also the machine this screenshot belongs too, as "the quest" also came out on the IBM PC, Apple II and Atari by Penguin Software in 1984
Your go
Another easy one for some i suspect

I always thought this game was broken when i first played it....then i realised the glitchy looking mess in the middle was intentional
Is that a joke?
Yars Revenge.
Dr Who and the Mines of Terror on the BBC did something simialr - the ground is actually code IYSWIM

PS Of course you would get it Laird, i was seeing if anyone else would. oh well your go

Nope.
Final clue - it's a Mega Drive game.
Well, I've been trying to discover what this latest game is but I'm stomped. If my life depended on finding out the name of that game, I'd be dead already! LOL
Ok well looks like you all give up! So looks like I win!Â
It's Smart Mouse on the Sega Mega Drive. I will post a new one in a bit.
It's a Japanese game!Â
Blam Star Cruiser (1988)..I remember playing this on a mates import, a very earlier 3d game, standing up to the likes of Star Glider 2 on the Amiga ...good shot!
