From Wikipedia:Â Arch Rivals is a basketball arcade game released by Midway in 1989. Billed by Midway as "A Basket Brawl", the game features two-on-two full court basketball games in which players are encouraged to punch opposing players and steal the ball from them.
So, how did this game compare between arcade and home versions? Let's have a look...

Pretty sure it was on the Master System too, but that would be near enough the same as the Game Gear version anyway.
I had this on the Mega Drive back in the day, was fun at first but got boring pretty quickly. I also remember it being very easy.
According to Wikipedia this game is considered a forerunner to NBA Jam.

Likely why that connection is made.Â

It's a very similar game to Basket Brawl on the 7800 and Lynx, seems Atari took the name from Arch Rivals tag line too . . . .

It certainly has a similar formula! And I'm guessing you meant to say 7800 and Lynx (not 2600).Â
